Live Performance and Recordings

As a group, the Birchwood String Quartet enjoys a varied and busy performance schedule. They are most frequently heard as a featured ensemble but have also enjoyed performing with other groups such as choirs, small chamber groups and in recording projects.

In addition to numerous radio broadcast performances, the quartet also actively works with composers and arrangers, and in 2004 recorded a score of new music for a Cannes Film Festival entry.

The quartet has been featured in publications such as Duet, the Twin Cities Musicians Union magazine, and Minnesota Bride. In 2005, 2006 and 2007 Minnesota Bride magazine acknowledged the quartet's commitment to its craft with the "Best Of'' award for wedding industry excellence.

As individuals, the members of the Birchwood String Quartet have experience performing in diverse venues, from local coffee houses to internationally renown concert halls. Performances range from standard classical ensembles, including symphony orchestra, ballet, opera, and musical theater, to playing jazz, rock, R&B, tango, folk and Klezmer music.
